The Chapel of Our Lady Undercroft was an early exercise in fibre-optic spotlighting and low energy illumination.The screen and status of the Virgin is lit using fibre-optic spotlights mounted on the canopy of an adjacent tomb; the lower part of the screen uses a concealed fluorescent tube, filtered to reduce and balance the level of illumination.
