Historic buildings may also need modern interventions. Here a new lift void has been inserted to provide wheelchair access to all areas of the building. The ‘new architecture’ was uncompromisingly contemporary and the lighting followed suit.
What you see here is a 15m long light fitting; a surface-mounted channel containing a continuous line of cold cathode tubing behind a diffuser.
