The Haydon Place Subway, which runs beneath York Road, is an excellent example of concrete brutalism. The new lighting pillars are set at each end of the underpass and provide local residents with a very different approach to amenity lighting. When there's no one around, the pillars are lit in a static blue, but once the sensors detect that there's someone close by, the pillars erupt into a brilliant colour-changing display.
