And how exciting that day will be when it finally arrives!

To give you an idea of what a lighting company needs to be doing to warrant GSL Certification, here's our headline listing of Attributes:

• The company publishes an environmental policy

• The company maintains a Quality Management System

• The company maintains an Environmental Management System

• The company audits the sustainability practices of its suppliers

• The company maintains a policy of Sustainable Product Design

• The company maintains a materials selection policy that ensures protection for human health and the environment.

• The company supports current UK Corporate Governance codes and guidelines

• The company publishes a Corporate Social Responsibility Policy

• The company supports the World Economic Forum’s Partnering Against Corruption Initiative (PACI)

In the meantime, I'm producing a series of commentaries on lighting developoments from the perspective of the 'sustainable specifier'.
